I am writing this review post 8 months since the sale of our home in Skokie. Looking back now one person stood out Grace Miya from Baird and Warner who handled the sale of our home. For those who are about to sell their house Grace Miya is the person to contact I believe her office is in Evanston, Illinois. She will do her absolute best to find the right buyer for the seller. Grace’s clients get access to her extensive knowledge of the market, relationships with service providers (home inspection, attorney, lenders) and an ally that guides you through the process while removing all the stress. As a first time buyer, I was a high maintenance client with no experience and lots of questions. Grace was available 24/7 to address any questions and concerns I needed. More important than her obvious competence in Chicago real estate and her hard-working nature is how she genuinely cares about the outcome for her clients. More than once she gave advice that was contrary to her own best interests so you know you could trust her opinion. She actually recommended I wait on buying a place entirely, so you really feel like a partner and not just a potential commission check. Grace was an agent on both a sale and a purchase. She had practical insights on what to improve to get a place updated for today's buyers and a great list of contractors to help fix every issue. If I could rate Grace on a scale from 1-100 I would give her 1,000,000 and I sincerely mean that. This was my third apartment in as many years and it was BY FAR the best experience I've ever had in apartment hunting. From the get-go, Grace took our specifics and gave us a list of several apartments that fit our criteria. She was extremely helpful in scheduling the viewings while being cognizant of our three different work schedules. Once we got on site, she offered to drive us to each listing, making it easy for us to see everything in a timely manner. Not only did she make the process painless, she made it fun. I think we looked at eight places before we found the spot that ultimately turned out to be our current home and when we saw it, she was almost as excited as we were. In addition to talking about all the endless possibilities with the building's amenities, she even requested we take a photo on the rooftop to put a stamp on our search. Needless to say, the photo is that of professional quality; nothing we didn't expect from Grace. As the process came to a close and we moved in, we had some additional questions and concerns with our unit. We informed Grace and within minutes had answers to all of them. I think I speak for all of us when I say, she made us feel like her sons in that she genuinely cared about our well being and safety. We don't consider Grace our real estate agent, we consider her our friend and for me personally, a second mom. I greatly appreciate everything that she has done for us and would 1000% recommend her to any and all of my friends. Our experience working with Grace to find our first home was phenomenal. Grace was incredibly patient with us as first time home buyers, but also provided us with appropriate information about the market to make decisions. She was always readily available to set up home viewings, and be a sounding board as we discussed the pros and cons of each property. Bidding on the home we fell in love with was also an adventure, as we were initially out-bid. But Grace was able to assist us in positioning ourselves to be the next bid, in the event the original offer fell through. And thankfully it did! We ended up with the house we wanted, thanks to some sage advise (and Grace's competitive nature!). Grace was also great with our 2-year old daughter who often accompanied us on viewings.
